I am a passionate, enthusiastic and specialist Early Years teacher with 21 years of experience in Primary Education. I have been fortunate to work in a variety of settings/locations which have enriched my teaching career.
My professional roles have included Deputy Head Teacher of 9 years, Assistant Head and EYFS/Key Stage 1 Lead, Deputy Safe Guarding Lead, English/Music/DT and Art Co-ordinator. My extra curricular roles have included KS1 and KS2 dance, performance, Makaton, music and art clubs.
I have also worked, in an advisory capacity, supporting the development of EYFS and Phonics/Literacy within school settings.
I am a practitioner with a deep understanding of Child Development, Communication and Inclusion.
I currently hold an enhanced DBS check, level 3 Paediatric First Aid and level 2 Makaton.
Over the years I have felt inspired to support children’s development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the first year of school (Reception). I feel it is really important that children are provided with the right care, opportunities and support to develop a wide range of skills needed to become confident learners ready for life.
Although I love being part of the classroom and school environment, I feel that my knowledge, skills, guidance and support needs to be redirected to parents/carers and children just before starting their school journey.
This exciting adventure is an opportunity to concentrate on supporting children’s transition into school through a variety of planned sessions and activities.
